CONCEPT:
Reverse Garbage is celebrating the traditionally loved up month of February with a handmade junky salvaged art exhibition with a twist! Forget traditional flowers, teddy bears and chocolates we want to see some romantic handmade objects with a bit of attitude and edge!

For Inspiration think darker, bold colours, retro pin ups, funky design, steam punk, moonlight, interview with a vampire, Victorian and Edwardian styling, Carnivale and Moulin Rouge..... You can use any salvaged materials, paper, fabrics, trims, cardboard, timber, metal, leather, found objects etc, you're only limited by your imagination!

The Reverse Emporium exhibits items such as jewellery, accessories, clothing, home wares, paper goods, decorations, soft furnishings, art works, framed prints and collages, journals, toys, furniture and more.

HOW TO TAKE PART:
Email us info@reversegarbage.com.au with “exhibition” in the subject line. We need all your contact details and a brief description of the items, the wholesale price, (that is your asking price) and a good photo of what you make or intend to submit. Please only send a maximum of 3 photos. If you have an etsy store or website include the link so we can see all the things you make!

IMPORTANT: good quality, high resolution photos are often used in promotional material e.g. newspapers, magazines and blogs. If you need to take photos of your items use natural light with no flash. They need to be at least 1MB and 200 dpi. If you need to submit in person by bringing in samples of what you make please make an appointment by calling 38919744.

CONDITIONS:
All items submitted for the exhibition must be made up of 70% salvaged material. This also means materials can be pre loved, recycled, reused, up cycled etc. They must also be well made and finished to a high standard and suitable for sale. Reverse Garbage sells items on a consignment basis with a 50% mark-up on the artist’s asking price. (Please note our usual wholesale price cap is $120 but we do take higher priced items on a case by case basis) Successful artists will be required to pay a $10 entry fee to cover costs of promotion and refreshments on opening night.
Successful entrants will be notified on Tuesday the 10th of January 2012 with more information about the opening night celebrations and delivery conditions.
